Te Āhuareka o Te Pūoro (Celebration of the Music)

March 28, 2020 - 7:30PM

St. Mary of the Angels, 17 Boulcott Street, Wellington 6011

2020 marks the 5th anniversary of Inspirare and we are taking the time to use this year to celebrate. We will be celebrating the choral music scene in Wellington (Te Pūoro), the land (Te Whenua), and the light (Te Ao Mārama).
This concert will feature music from our past concerts that have been sung by Inspirare, along with 4 other diverse choirs. We cannot celebrate the choral music scene in Welly without thinking about the range of ages, genres, and types of choirs. Te Āhuareka o Te Pūoro will feature the following choirs:
1. Wellington Young Voices, two ensembles consisting of children ages 6-14, both auditioned and non-auditioned (Conductors, Mark Stamper and Jo Hodgson)
2. Cantoris , an adult ensemble that is celebrating their 50th year and is non-auditioned (Conductor, Thomas Nikora)
3. Con Anima, the premier select men's ensemble from St. Patrick's, Wellington (Conductor, Roger Powdrell)
4. Queen Margaret College Chorale, the premier select women's ensemble from Queen Margaret College (Conductor, Mark Stamper)
The venue is St. Mary of the Angels, which has become the unofficial home of Inspirare over the past several years.
Buy your tickets today and don't miss this exciting celebration of choral music in Wellington!
